Hi there! My name is Mary Schweiger. I grew up in south eastern Wisconsin where my love for illustration and storytelling began at a young age. Competing in track and volleyball in high school led to my interest in learning anatomy and physiology. Given my varied interests in storytelling, art, and science, I was excited to discover the field of medical illustration. I fell in love with the idea of creating art that could communicate important information and make a positive impact on society. It was at Iowa State University in the Biological/Pre-Medical Illustration program that I developed skills in technical drawing and took numerous advanced science classes ranging from dendrology to organic chemistry. During my time in Iowa, I interned at iSO-FORM, a highly successful biomedical animation, illustration, and interactive media company. This experience inspired me to pursue further education. I went on to attend the University of Illinois at Chicago where I earned my Master’s in Biomedical Visualization.

I now live in Southern California with my husband, Drew. I work as a Medical Illustrator at High Impact, where I create illustrations, animations, and infographics to explain medical, scientific, and other complex content.

Outside of work, Drew and I enjoy going to the beach, hiking, playing volleyball, and spending time with family and friends.

With a passion for education, Mary is excited about opportunities for patient education and medical/science education.

Let’s talk!
